Valuable volunteers
We're excited to welcome 16 newly inducted volunteers to Bear Cottage! These dedicated individuals have almost completed their training program, which covers important aspects of volunteering at Bear Cottage.
As part of their on-boarding, new volunteers will also participate in ‘buddy shifts’ alongside our highly experienced volunteers, who will guide them through
the practical elements of their roles and show them the ropes.
Our new volunteers will support our team in a variety of ways, including in the kitchen, with play, music and art therapy and some are particularly excited to get into our garden.
We’re excited to welcome them to our Bear Cottage family and grateful for their commitment to our purpose.
Nilana is a trained pilot, who teaches at Bankstown airport. You will see Nilana walking Beau and helping Brendon in the garden.
Niki is studying nursing and has an interest in paediatrics. Niki has already had lots of fun learning the ropes with play therapy, but is also a whizz at administration.
Annabelle brings nearly a decade of volunteer experience as a Surf Lifesaving patrol member and puppy raiser for Guide Dogs. You’ll see Annabelle on the weekend in the kitchen.
Sarah is a trained florist, and as such will bring a great deal of creativity to the Cottage! In a previous life, Sarah herself was a nurse and midwife. Sarah will be with us during the week.
